Where Alpacas Provide Sanctuary

Sanctuary Alpacas

They Help Us, We help them

Helping the Sanctuary Herd

At the Good Shepherd Alpaca Sanctuary, alpacas provide sanctuary for our visitors and for us.  There is an atmosphere of peace, where time seems to stand still and suddenly the breeze feels soothing, and the humming of the alpacas has a melody all its own.  Not a week goes by without someone saying, "It's so quiet and peaceful here-- I feel relaxed for the first time all week."

Alpacas have a way of lowering our blood pressure and returning us to calm state of being. I still don't understand how they do it, but I'm glad they do.

Sometimes we need a little help at the Sanctuary.  Recently an owner of 12 alpacas came upon hard times when her financial situation changed dramatically with the death of her husband.  She needs help paying their board bills, so I asked her if the Sanctuary could try to help.  She gladly agreed, but would like these older girls can live out their lives here at the sanctuary.  Older alpacas have a hard time adjusting to a new home..  So...

We are looking for people who would be willing to sponsor these older females by making a donation to the Good Shepherd Alpaca Sanctuary.

Would you be willing to pay for the monthly board of at least one of these mature girls on an ongoing basis?

Daily Care is $200 per month per alpaca which covers all their food, clean up, and general care.  If you can help, please click the button at the bottom of the page, and enter the amount  you are willing to contribute on a monthly basis.

Once you are making a donation to the Sanctuary, you are welcome to join us on weekend afternoons from 1-4 pm to see the alpaca(s) you are supporting. You may bring them treats in the form of carrot tops (the green part that the grocer throws away).  They love them!

We thank you in advance for your generous donation.  We can supply tax receipts for your donation at the end of the year since we are a 501c3.
